Theyve gotten a auspicious amount of radio airplay in New York BEFORE their full-length release. DJs on WBAI, WRSU, and WBMB have been known to obsess over BOP. The guy at BAI, Gonzalo Aburto rocks. He always plays us even though we sing mostly in English. They do a mambo-rock version of Black Sabbaths "War Pigs," and stoner-rock versions of the Latin classics "Vamanos Pal Monte" and "Aguanile." They often perform in Ricky Riccardo--style frilly shirts or all white Santeria outfits, making the juxtaposition of Latin and Rock more bizarre and appropriate at the same time (Generation ñ). They have understandably compiled a large and growing following covering the Northeast, and theyve also developed a growing fan base in far away places including stints opening up for international Rock in Español bands, South By Southwest and a surreal tour of El Salvador.
